Ingeniuer 3227-01 advice. First off all it is a great watch and you will likely find very good deals on it pre-owned. As far as accuracy it is the most accurate watch that I own. When worn regularly my watch will gain around 8- 10 sec. per week. i haven't worn it regularly for any longer than that so I assume it would only get better.

This made the watch a bit thick I guess, but it was an in-house movement with Pellaton winding system. At the time I bought mine in 2008, the list price was just below €6000 Euro. I agree that the new Inge models just aren't the same as the 3227. And I also agree that IWC bracelets, while absolutely superb, need micro adjustments. . Read post #13. I estimate between 4000 and 8000 3227-01 ever produced. The total number of Ingenieur models produced during their run was probably around 16,000. Rather less.

The older Ingenieur SL Jumbo models with five-digit prices were out of my reach, so the only options were the references 3227 and 3228, and so I quickly decided on the black Ingenieur Automatic reference 3227-01, which I thought was more beautiful. I found my watch via Chrono24 in Italy. Following this target, IWC decided to choose the proven 7750-base as a source of inspiration. Therefore, the 80110 became a mixture of the strengths of the solid 7750-construction and the legendary IWC pellaton winding system, accompanied by IWC’s general quality standards and production knowledge.” It comes from a well-heralded line of watches starting as early as the 1950s.
